My sister, brother-in-law and I have made a pact: every bank holiday we explore somewhere new in Northern Ireland. This May bank holiday I managed to emerge from my bed shape cocoon and we set off for Castle Ward in Strangford. With the rain that was forecast staying at bay we, along with my 13 month-old niece, had a fantastic time exploring the grounds which acted as the location for Game of Throne’s ‘Winterfell’. Situated on the banks of Strangford Lough, the Castle Ward estate was swarming with people exploring all that was on offer, from the scenic views, tranquil trails and historic architecture. Pictured is a selection of images captured from our day’s adventure.
